Home School Agreement

Parents/Guardians will:

  • ensure that my child attends school regularly and endeavour to avoid any absences, including for holidays, during term time

  • ensure that any leave of absence has been requested, in writing, and agreed by the Sixth Form Director

  • inform the school of any concerns or problems that might affect my child's work or behaviour

  • support the school's policies, codes and guidelines for behaviour, dress and discipline

  • support my child in their studies and check that homework is done properly and given in on time

  • attend Consultation Evenings regularly to discuss progress and performance

  • seek to be informed about my child's life in school by engaging with them and the school about their progress and education.

The School will:

  • contact parents if there are concerns about attendance, punctuality or equipment

  • inform parents if there are significant concerns or problems that affect their child's work or behaviour

  • send home regular profile grade assessments, and an annual written report

  • set and assess homework in line with the school's homework policy

  • arrange Consultation Evenings during which progress can be discussed

  • keep parents informed about school activities through the regular weekly e­-News, letters home, the bi­-termly Sixth Form newsletter and notices about special events

  • welcome parents' involvement with the Friends of the school

Code of Conduct

The Student will follow the school’s Code of Conduct and Bullying Charter which states:

  • Every student has the right to travel to and from school, attend lessons, and enjoy breaks and lunch times free from intimidation.

  • Every student has the right to study and learn in school and achieve his/her best. Staff have a right to teach and perform their duties without hindrance.

  • Everyone has the responsibility to respect the rights of others.

  • Everyone has the responsibility to respect the property of others and that of the school.

  • Everyone has the right to report to a trusted adult or via the bully box, any incidents where their rights are being denied, and the duty to report any incidents where the rights of others are being denied.

Adults have the responsibility to act on these reports, either directly or by passing them on to an appropriate member of staff.

Anyone who denies others their rights must understand that appropriate action will be taken.
