Sixth Form Finance

Sixth Form Account

The Sixth Form has its own funds, coming from sources such as membership fees. You may make proposals for expenditure to the Exec.

Sixth Form Society

On entering the Sixth Form at Dr Challoner’s you become a member of the Sixth Form Society. This involves a single voluntary contribution of £50, due on the first day of the Lower Sixth academic year. This sum pays for your Sixth Form tie or pin badge, this Sixth Form handbook, any printing (in black and white and up to a maximum of 10 pages per day) you may need to do and the upkeep of all the facilities in the general area of the Sixth Form Centre. It pays for your access to Unifrog, Morrisby Course Finder, and the Higher Education Conference in June of Year 12. It also subsidises certain Sixth Form events. Collecting the money for these events in one go saves you, your parents and us time and trouble later in the year.

Sixth Form and Charity

Sixth Formers assist with, and often initiate, the organisation of school charity events and special charity days. Please offer your services if you wish to be involved.

16-19 Bursary

This government funded scheme exists to support students where finance would otherwise be a barrier to participation in post – 16 education. Full details of this means tested bursary are available to your parents on the school website. Applications can be submitted at any time, but doing so early in September will help us to help you as easily as possible.
