Mobile Devices
Mobile technology is very much part of life today, and school is no exception. Students in the Sixth Form are welcome to bring a laptop or tablet computer to school to help them with their studies. These items and their peripherals remain the responsibility of the student. Each student has access to a locker which should be used to store any valuable items when not in use.
Devices can be linked to the school’s wireless network to better enable students to study. Use of this facility is subject to the school’s IT policy and student’s IT Code of Practice, and students are expected to comply with the standards therein.
Staying safe online is an important part of modern life and sensible and mature use of technology is expected by Sixth Form students. Use of the school network must be restricted to educational uses.
MP3 Players and Mobile Phones
One of the privileges of life in the Sixth Form is that you may bring a mobile phone to school. However, these may only be used in the Sixth Form Centre and nowhere else on the school site. Use of your phone outside the Sixth Form Centre will result in confiscation of the phone for up to one week. The same rules apply to MP3 players. We regard abiding by these simple rules as part of the Sixth Formers’ duty of setting a good example to younger students.
