Travel

We regard your journey to school as part of the school day and expect you to behave accordingly. Sixth Formers travel to school in a number of different ways.

Coach Travel

Sixth Formers travelling to school by coach have to pay the Bucks County student rate. All students coming to school in this way are asked to help in maintaining high standards of behaviour on the coaches. Two Sixth Formers per coach may well be nominated to monitor students’ conduct on their coach.

Train Travel

If you travel to school by train it is your responsibility to ensure you catch a train that gets you to school in good time. Do not catch a service scheduled to arrive in Amersham after 8:30am. Once again, students are expected to maintain high standards of behaviour and we would ask Sixth Form students to challenge or report any younger Challoner’s pupils they witness behaving inappropriately on the train.

There is nothing to stop members of the Sixth Form who have full licences from driving to school. We would, however, point out that there is no student parking available on the school site and free parking in the vicinity of the school is becoming ever more limited. As a result of this we have negotiated a discounted parking scheme with the local authorities that allows you to purchase a permit to park in the car park behind the former Iceland supermarket in Amersham. We strongly recommend that you take up this opportunity and the simple form can be obtained from the Sixth Form Office. If you do choose to drive to school, we implore you to do so in a safe and responsible manner. Failure to follow these guidelines may result in the privilege of driving to school being withdrawn.

Driving Lessons

Diving lessons must not be booked during the school day. If you are entitled to leave school before 3:45pm you may arrange lessons during P4 or P5 only. When your test time is known you must get a parental letter requesting leave of absence for that time. Please submit that request well in advance and ensure you catch up on all work missed.
