Sixth Grade Scholars have the opportunity to partner with The Trust for Public Land and Park Pride to design a schoolyard for the Centennial Academy Community. This schoolyard will create more green space for scholars and residents along with providing recreation and exercise opportunities. Scholars will work on the design project over the course of two years by conducting interviews with the community, learning about environmental justice and access to green space, and determining which items should be added to the schoolyard space.

6th grade math scholars worked to design a school flag for their proposed schoolyard as they explored the Georgia Performance Standard of Excellence on applying and extending previous understandings of numbers to the system of rational numbers. 6th grade science scholars explored concepts of meteorology and climate.
