Atlanta Weather Changes All of the Time!
First graders are investigating current weather conditions and seasonal changes through observations. Students have been learning about weather patterns, different types of weather, weather instruments, how to predict the weather, and reading informational text about weather to understand the role of a meteorologist. Students have been making observations and tracking data about weather conditions throughout the unit. Students use their SEL (Social- EmotionalLearning) skills to work, solve problems, and to engage in the daily lessons. Students use their Success Skills to communicate, collaborate, think critically, and to showcase their work ethic in this unit. Students were involved in organizing a plan to share with visitors about when to visit Atlanta, Georgia by becoming expert meteorologists.

Our Process
In breakout rooms, first grade scholars complete an anchor chart identifying the different characteristics of each season.
