Students joined with the aerospace dynamics team at Georgia Tech to participate in a glider engineering design project. Students engaged in understanding measurement with area and perimeter as well as fraction concepts to design and build an engineless glider that would be beneficial in future earth conservation efforts.

On Wednesday, March 17th, keynote speaker Dr. José Hernández shared his story of overcoming barriers to become one of the few Latinos to serve as an astronaut for the National Aeronautics and Space Association (NASA). 4th grade scholars attended his session.
Each Monday scholars met with Professor Dr. Kelly Griendling of the Georgia Tech Daniel Guggenheim School of Aerospace Engineering. Following the sessions the teachers worked with scholars learning of area and perimeter.
