Project Overview
Scholars took on the role of song writers to show their concern and knowledge about current events in the world. The War of 1812 and the writing of the Star Spangled Banner sparked their creativity and passion for addressing issues and their affects on the world today. After learning about their Social Studies standards, scholars tapped into their creativity by writing songs about Covid-19, racial injustice, and other issues that affect them in their daily lives. Scholars collaborated and thought critically to create a song together to address the various topics.
