Project Overview
Eighth-grade scholars explored an in-depth Government unit in preparation for the November presidential election and learned the rights and responsibilities of citizens. Most recently they explored the causes of the American Revolution and recognized patterns the colonist employed to become agents of change in the formation of the United States of America. The Montgomery Bus Boycott helped shape the civil rights movement through boycotts and got city leaders to pay attention to the cause of civil rights. Scholars researched current examples of people’s Political Action in society today. The eighth-graders were very passionate and chose their societal issues.

Eighth grade scholars reviewed song lyrics and videos. They were asked for thoughts, comments, feedback, and feelings on the words and images viewed.
