Project Overview
Eighth grade scholars will engage in robust analyses of both historical/ modern literature, evaluate dramatic monologues, and interpret political cartoons/advertisements that expose social justice issues such as Educational Inequality, Gender Inequality, Poverty, and Racism.
Entry Event
Eighth grade scholars participated in a Global Read Aloud of the book Stamped, by Jason Reynolds and Ibram X. Kendi. Scholars also explored examples of commentary in the form of political cartoons, commercial ads, and PSAs on topics such as education and poverty, equality, inclusion, and diversity.
