Studying English Literature at both GCSE and A-Level at St Malachy’s High School Castlewellan was really very enjoyable for me and I would advise any of you who have developed a liking or interest in English as a subject throughout key stage three to really consider studying it further. I have really been able to develop my academic skills by taking on extended studies of English Literature.I have also had the opportunity to discover inspirational writers and their works; from local literary Nobel prize winner Seamus Heaney to William Shakespeare’s ‘King Lear’ and have thoroughly enjoyed this aspect of the course.
