Student Testimonials
I have really enjoyed this course, as much of it was to do with real life construction work. We began with the AutoCad controlled assessment unit, which I became quite good at. Mr Mason explained lots of stuff regarding how to use this software package, and we were then able to put this into practice very quickly. Throughout the first year. We also learnt about construction buildings, walls foundations, planning laws, and personnel in construction among other things. Then in second year we began making a coffee table out of wood. This part I found very enjoyable, as my dad is a joiner and therefore, I already knew how to cut wood joints etc. My project turned out extremely well. Then we had to study for our final unit 2 examination that June

My knowledge of construction in Year 10 was very limited, as I had never really been on a construction site before, although me and my family watch Grand designs quite often. Mr Mason explained the course well at the beginning of the year, so there were no real surprises along the way. The most enjoyable bits were the Computer Aided drawing, and the manufacturing of my toddles chair in the workshop, which were both controlled assessments. We sat one examination in yr 11 and the other in yr 12. Lots of my mates also really enjoyed this course as well.
