Why should I choose Business?
The skills learnt in studying Business will help and prepare you to enter the workplace in due course. In the business sector, you may wish to move into roles such as assistants in business administration, marketing, finance, human resources, sales and customer service.
BTECs are vocationally related qualifications, where you will develop knowledge and understanding by applying your learning and skills in a work-related context. Additionally, they are popular and effective because they engage you to take responsibility for your own learning and to develop skills that are essential for the modern-day workplace.
These skills include: teamworking; working from a prescribed brief; working to deadlines; presenting information effectively; and accurately completing administrative tasks and processes.
Business studies will motivate you, and open doors to progression into further study and responsibility within the workplace.
You will work hard, but have lots of fun too.

Student Testimonials
I really enjoyed GCSE Business Studies as it was fun and relevant to the modern world. I particularly liked understanding how businesses run and the class trips were really enjoyable. It helped us gain an insight into how businesses operate. It has really helped me progress to A-level as I loved the different topics and it made me want to learn more!

Business Studies is easily one of my favourite subjects. You learn about all the factors that contribute to how each industry operates day to day and the variety of people who are required to make this happen. I believe that the subject opens so many doors for students as no matter what career path you want to go down you will need to have a good knowledge of how each company works. Business Studies is also interesting as you can learn about what you are fascinated by, I personally have based previous pieces of coursework on clothing brands and have enjoyed learning about what goes in to making the clothes that I wear. I would recommend the subject to those who have many exam-based subjects because business is heavily based upon coursework in all exam years, meaning that you can balance out your study time and work.
