Why should I choose Computer Science?
Computer Science is DIFFERENT from ICT.
While ICT is about how you would work with a computer, Computer Science is about how the computer works.
Computer Science is a large subject with lots of applications. Computer scientists design new software, solve computing problems and develop different ways to use technology. All computer scientists rely on computational thinking.
Computing helps hone your computational thinking skills and problem-solving ability, it could be useful for a whole range of careers, not just computing careers.
In job applications, you can use your computing GCSE to demonstrate these skills. Having a qualification in Computer Science will serve as a competitive advantage in your career.
If you have strong problem solving skills and are mathematically capable, then this is a subject that you should choose at GCSE level.
