Wash Your Hands
Every time we go to the toilet we must wash our hands before we go back to class. We have been practicing lots recently and have got really good at it. Can you think of reasons why we wash our hands and when else we might like to do it? Think about...

Where you have been and whether it was clean
What you have done or are about to do.
Next, chat with the class or to the person next to you about how to wash your hands successfully. Did you remember it all?
Watch the video - they are both helpful to remember the parts of your hands to wash. The top one is a song for our junior school and the bottom one is more suited to the senior school.
Now that you remember how to wash your hands properly, you might like to make a storyboard or cartoon strip to show the parts of your hands that you need to wash. Maybe you could even share it on Seesaw or display them above the sink in your toilets?
Be On Time Back to Class
We have to make sure that we are on time back to class so that we don't miss out on new learning. If we need to pop out of class to the toilet we should always be quick and only take the time that we actually need.
Think about the time that we have at school every day. We are at school between 9am and 3pm but we also have lots of breaks and other events.
How much do you know about our school timetable?
What time does school start?
What time does morning tea, lunch and lunch eating finish?
How long do you think it will take for you to go to the toilet? Does it take 3 minutes? 5 minutes? 10 minutes?
If you went to the toilet for 3 minutes twice every day during class time, that’s 32 minutes of learning time you miss. Can you work out together or independently how long you would miss if you took 10 minutes twice a day?
Next time you have to go out of class to the toilet, see if you can time yourself by counting the seconds! What could you do with the extra time you save?
Now, use these cool timers to time how long it takes someone to walk from your classroom to the toilet and back again. Add in 1 minute to use the toilet and then 30 seconds to wash your hands and work out how long it could take someone to do a trip to the toilet as a guide for your class!
