This week in English, children have completed their non-fiction fact file on their sea creature - they can’t wait to share them with you!
We have been working on money and recognising that coins represent specific amounts. If you are travelling this summer, why not look at coins from different countries and what they represent?
In Humanities, we compared modern boats with dhows to see what is different and what is the same.
We have been looking at our family portrait at the beginning of the year and creating a new one for the end of the year. We can see a big improvement in our drawing skills.
Our weekly talk time helps develop an oracy skill. We have now introduced all our sentence stems for the term and will be working on how to use them.
This week’s Talk Time topic is: What has been your favourite thing in this academic year?
Please continue to bring in any note linked to this topic so the children can share in class.
All school books should now have been returned to school.

When you have done this each week with your child, please make a note in your child’s PO.
Please keep reading at home, and sign in the P.O. every day so your child continues to make great progress in reading.
Please see the Google class and here for more information on supporting your child at home with phonics.
Please remember to send a large carrier bag tomorrow- we will then send your child’s work home from the year.
We have noticed an increase in students wearing their own trainers to school so please remember that on school days, black footwear (shoes or trainers) should be worn. Long hair should also be tied up. Stud earrings can be worn, but bracelets, necklaces and other earrings must not be worn to school.
If a child is wearing a religious necklace please inform us via the Primary Office for approval. If approved, ensure it is tucked into shirts for health and safety reasons.
Please pack healthy lunches for your children, and note that we have nut allergies in the year group so no snacks should be sent containing nuts.

Please can we request that all children come to school on the day of their swimming lessons with the following equipment:
Swim Uniform in accordance with guidelines.
Swim hats for those with long hair. ALL hats must be secure on the head with no risk of slipping down over the face.
Goggles
Towel
Pool shoes (crocs or equivalent)
A waterproof bag to carry everything in.
Please see our Swimwear Guidelines on the website.
Please do not wear 'swim uniform' into school for hygiene reasons. Please do not wear an alternative gym or running kit for swimming lessons. It's important to use only 'Swim Uniform' and the recommendations listed above in the pool, as other fabrics become incredibly heavy when wet.
