This week we have been reading George’s Marvellous Medicine by Roald Dahl. The children have been really enjoying the story!
In Maths lessons this week we have been learning about time. We have been revising O’clock and half past times and learning about quarter past / quarter to and how to read the time to 5 minute intervals. This is tricky, and extra practise at home will help.
Here are some extra games that your child may enjoy:
We have finished creating our moving vehicles! The children have been very creative with their designs!
We have been thinking about all the things that make us special
In discovery learning we have been carrying out a fair test to find out which materials are the best insulators, working collaboratively to create a large kapok tree and learning about pictograms, linked to our rainforest topic. We have also been making pizza fractions!
Please check the google classroom each Sunday for full details of homework tasks
Please ensure your child has joined their Google Classroom.

Please make sure your child brings a hat to school everyday in their schoolbag.
Please remember to label everything your child brings to school, including water bottles, lunch bags and swim kits. This will help us reunite any missing items with your child.
If you would like to contact your child’s class teacher then please write a note in the PO or send an email to the primary office, and they will pass this on.
Please click here for the Y2 Curriculum Newsletter for Term 3
If your child is unwell, leaving early or coming late please complete the Absence Form and the class teacher will be informed.
Please can we request that all children come to school on the day of their swimming lessons with the following equipment:
Swim Uniform in accordance with guidelines.
Swim hats for those with long hair. ALL hats must be secure on the head with no risk of slipping down over the face.
Goggles
Towel
Pool shoes (crocs or equivalent)
A waterproof bag to carry everything in.
Please see our Swimwear Guidelines on the website.
Please do not wear 'swim uniform' into school for hygiene reasons. Please do not wear an alternative gym or running kit for swimming lessons. It's important to use only 'Swim Uniform' and the recommendations listed above in the pool, as other fabrics become incredibly heavy when wet.
We have created WhatsApp groups for parents to know about urgent messages or reminders. Email will continue to be the main form of communication. Please see our BSM WhatsApp Groups Document for all the links. Please read the code of conduct carefully before joining any BSM WhatsApp groups.
