We are so impressed by how the children adapted to online learning last week and their behaviour, participation and enthusiasm was fantastic! We are so proud of them! Thank you to all of the parents helping behind the scenes, your support with online learning is so appreciated.
This week we had our Significant People day. This was a brilliant opportunity for the children to share their learning about a significant person that they admire. The children were very enthusiastic and confident when sharing information about their chosen person to children from other classes, and it was evident a lot of work had gone into their costumes and posters - well done Year 2! (see notices for more photos)
It was also a pleasure to welcome parents into Year 2 to look at the work the children have been doing this term. Thank you for your time and engagement in our open session, it was lovely to see the pride the children took in showing you their learning!
We have been finishing our topic about significant people by writing a recount about significant people day
In Maths lessons this week we have completed our topic on multiplication and division. Please do keep practising the multiplication and division facts for the 2.5 and 10 times tables as a quick recall of these facts helps in so many areas of the maths curriculum. Our next topic is measurement, and we have begun by practising measuring and drawing lines with a ruler,
This week we completed our round of activities for this term. The children have been creating Picasso-style self-portraits, deepening their understanding of arrays and completing a treasure hunt about significant people.
Please check the google classroom each Sunday for full details of homework tasks

Please can we request that all children come to school on the day of their swimming lessons with the following equipment:
Swim Uniform in accordance with guidelines.
Swim hats for those with long hair. ALL hats must be secure on the head with no risk of slipping down over the face.
Goggles
Towel
Pool shoes (crocs or equivalent)
A waterproof bag to carry everything in.
Please see our Swimwear Guidelines on the website.
Please do not wear 'swim uniform' into school for hygiene reasons. Please do not wear an alternative gym or running kit for swimming lessons. It's important to use only 'Swim Uniform' and the recommendations listed above in the pool, as other fabrics become incredibly heavy when wet.
We have created WhatsApp groups for parents to know about urgent messages or reminders. Email will continue to be the main form of communication. Please see our BSM WhatsApp Groups Document for all the links. Please read the code of conduct carefully before joining any BSM WhatsApp groups.
