We have learned about different types of sentences and used these in our independent writing, inspired by the plight of turtles in today’s oceans. We researched the impact of plastic pollution on turtles, watched an animation about a turtle’s experiences and then wrote from the perspective of a turtle, focusing on our senses.
We have been learning to divide 2-digit and 3-digit numbers using flexible partitioning.
We researched the melting points of different materials and used the results to draw a bar chart.
We have continued our topic on ‘Managing Risks’ and learned about what to do in a medical emergency.
We identified the key features of a coastline and grouped these into human or physical features. We also learned about the different sea defences used to protect our coastlines and made models of our own sea defences.
Inspired by Hokusai’s woodblock prints, we have created printing blocks with a sea-related image. We will use these to create prints next week.

Please can we request that all children come to school on the day of their swimming lessons with the following equipment:
Swim Uniform in accordance with guidelines.
Swim hats for those with long hair. ALL hats must be secure on the head with no risk of slipping down over the face.
Goggles
Towel
Pool shoes (crocs or equivalent)
A waterproof bag to carry everything in.
Please see our Swimwear Guidelines on the website.
Please do not wear 'swim uniform' into school for hygiene reasons. Please do not wear an alternative gym or running kit for swimming lessons. It's important to use only 'Swim Uniform' and the recommendations listed above in the pool, as other fabrics become incredibly heavy when wet.
