Going into freshman year, it might be hard getting settled or asking your teachers for help, so below is a compiled list of websites and apps that might be beneficial for you to use throughout the school year:
ALGEBRA 1:
First up - Mathway. This website helps you if you need an explanation for your problem. All you have to do is enter your question and hit the "send" icon to get an explanation. There is also an app if you would prefer to use your phone or iPad and there is an option to take a picture if the question is too long to type out.
Brian McLogan on YouTube teaches math from Algebra 1 to Geometry and Algebra 2 to Trigonometry and more. If you prefer a visual and auditory explanation being taught to you, his channel has lots of videos using this method.
BIOLOGY:
Amoeba Sisters is a channel on YouTube that teaches high school biology using animated visuals to make learning less complicated. This will be helpful when you start learning about cells, DNA, mRNA and more. You're probably not going to need this if you have John for biology. He's already a great teacher.
HISTORY:
Ck-12 has online textbooks that can help with world history, and SchoolSimplified has history notes as well.
Quizlet has flashcards like this that can help you fill out your map before a quiz.
ENGLISH:
You can use Grammarly to check for spelling errors before turning in an essay or other writing assignment.
EXTRA WEBSITES/RESOURCES FOR TESTS:
Take notes in class so you can revise before a test/quiz.
If you have history, make sure you double check your map and spelling before submitting your quiz.
Syvum.com also has interactive games and little quizzes if you need extra practice.
Use Khan Academy to practice more questions before a test.
CK-12 is a non-profit organization with textbooks and you can take notes from if you couldn't take notes in class. It also has adaptive practices you can do as you progress.
You can also use SchoolSimplified if you need some notes to revise. You can also save the notes to your drive if you prefer to take notes digitally
Have fun and good luck in 9th grade!!!!!
