After Puddles
by Quincy Smith
by Quincy Smith
It was raining again
one - loneliness
two - tenderness
The dirt under your nails
Feeding protein
Its a hunger unresolved
three - screeching
four - flashing
Concrete is fragile in this universe
Sound breaks the winds' nightly dance
Jive and Groove
Neon lights
Brighter times
Siren sings
A song of endings
A trumpet of doom
But a smile is still
Glazed between your dimples
fire - flesh
six - glass
seven - light
Laughter rings underground
Eyes begin to search
There are too many questions
eight - marrow
nine - bleached walls
Grief describes the feeling of static saturated in tears
Stagnate blessing
Stop smiling
ten - release
