Quarantine Struggles

by Perla Ventura & Alondra Ogoffa

#1 PROCRASTINATION

I have always procrastinated throughout middle school, but quarantine made it worse. Before, I would take maybe an hour to not do my work, but now it can take me more than a week. I now am gaining some motivation to do my work, but quarantine made it even more of a struggle. - PV

#2 OVERSLEEPING

I slept WAY more: Sleeping is great. Sleeping is good for you. But NOT when you sleep too much like I did. When quarantine first started, I had literal BLACK EYE BAGS😕 which wasn’t good. Once I entered high school, I still stayed up really late causing me to sleep too much and miss some classes. Fix your sleep schedule, and stay healthy! - PV

#3 EMOTIONAL EATING

This has affected me the most. During quarantine, I had trouble keeping up with my so-called friends, and I felt alone. I thought eating would help the pain. It did at the moment, but it just made me even sadder. I’m still recovering, but I’m getting better. - AO

#4 LOSS OF MOTIVATION

Falling asleep and waking up to work that hasn’t been turned in is the thing that has stressed me the most. I’ve been working so hard to try to finish the work, but when you receive more and more, it’s exhausting. Give it your best shot and if you’re struggling, it’s okay to let a teacher or an adult you trust know. - AO

Do not worry! This things happen to everyone and are completely normal. Just stay healthy and no matter what grades you have or if you’re still in the process of fixing everything you want to fix, just know that we are INCREDIBLY proud of you so please keep doing you.
