Objectives for the Week:

Words of the Week: accountability, community, place value, genre

In reading we will begin reading James and the Giant Peach. This is going to be a fun-filled novel study for your 3rd grader. I'll also start with beginning of the year BAS testing. In writing, we are excited to have the ring of accountability as our essay topic. We will begin our accountability essays for Run for the Rings. In math, we will be working diligently on adding and subtracting three and four digit numbers accurately. We will also ask ourselves if our answers are reasonable based on using compatible numbers through estimating and rounding. Science continues to be fun as the 3 states of matters change and we explore solids, liquids, and gases. In social studies our government will be the topic of the week. How fun it will be to discover what our mayor really does!
