Book Character Day was a huge success! Thank you for your creativity and giving your child the opportunity to embrace this first ever Academy at Nola Dunn special day! We had so much fun and enjoyed our great day full of learning!

WORDS OF THE WEEK: veteran, establish, array
Reading and social studies will go hand in hand this week as we tie our Pilgrims simulation in with our reading block. What a great way to study across the subjects! We will concentrate on identifying and recognizing the importance of text features that are present in nonfiction texts and the role they play in the true comprehension of what we are reading. In writing, we will be writing about our personal experiences with holidays and how special time with family is. We are in week 2 of multiplication, and each and every student is excited and beyond thrilled to be challenged with learning the product of every single multiplication problem!

We have a new security system in place for entry into our building. If you plan on attending such events as the Spelling Bee or our 3rd Grade Thanksgiving Feast, we must know in advance so that the front will not get congested and I have your name tags prepared. If you will be attending the Spelling Bee on November 7, I need you to let me know by Monday please.
For our Thanksgiving Feast, I have prepared a sign up genius and sent to you. I need you to RSVP by Monday, November 12th if you will be joining us! Thanks so much.
Mrs. Monroe, our room parent, sent you an email in reference to funds for our class parties. She has given me an envelope to collect the funds for her. She needs these monies by Nov. 8th if possible. Thank you!
Our field trip to the Bureau of Engraving had to be rescheduled. We will be going on Thursday, January 17th, weather permitting of course!! You never know what will be happening here in TEXAS on January 17th!!
