Who knew? When I was growing up, I just remember hearing "The Gingerbread Man" read to me...the same story, no other setting, no other plot, no different characters. How much fun we have had comparing and contrasting the different versions of this story that are out there today and playing games too! Thank you Mrs. Greene for your love for our school, kids and learning!!
WORDS OF THE WEEK: sequence, rapid, investigate, erupt
We are reading, Christmas Magic, and have just completed Chapter 5. Some valuable life lessons are being taught in this book and students are making some wonderful real-world connections. We will make it through Chapter 10 by Friday and concentrate on making some inferences and drawing conclusions based on textual evidence. In math, we are moving right on into division. Students are recognizing that multiplication and division are "married", therefore this skill is proving to be an easy transition. In writing, students will describe in their own words how to do something using a step-by-step process. These writings are always quite enjoyable to read!! In science we are discussing the rapid changes in the earth and how they occur and in social studies, we are still discussing communities and will compare and contrast different ways needs are met.
