What a great field trip to the Bureau of Engraving we had on Thursday. Thank you parents for helping make this field trip a success!
We are reading Louis Braille as a class. Today we learned that Louis was inspired by nightwriting. He knew that dots could make it easier for blind people to read instead of raised print, which was the norm at the time for the blind. CHALLENGE: I asked your child to locate Louis Braille's alphabet of dots (braille) out in our community somewhere over the long weekend and come to class Tuesday morning and share. I told them that it's everywhere and they just don't "see it". I can't wait to hear about the places in town that they located braille!
Also, please encourage your child to get on Scootpad. We are currently in 6th place in our school. I'm just a bit competitive!! I want that beautiful trophy to stay on the ledge outside of our classroom! Go VERDE 3rd!!
Boy, we can be loud and have fun while learning, but when it's time to read quietly, look how engaged your child is!
