Wow! Did we really just have 4 days of school last week? We got so much accomplished! Absolutely amazing. Your child works so hard each day! Give them a big thanks from their number one fan, ME!!
WORDS OF THE WEEK: hideous, despair, equation, president
We are continuing our novel study over James and the Giant Peach. We will cover chapters 4 - 7. Extending the meaning in the text will be our focus with your child answering this question..."How do you think James' aunts can make money off the peach?" Check SEESAW to see your child's response! In Math, your child will show me their understanding of addition, subtraction, rounding and recognizing related academic vocabulary on the first math assessment of the year. It's International Dot Day on September 15th, so in writing we will enjoy reading and writing about this day! How the states of matter change will be our topic of the week in science. For social studies, we will build background knowledge for our field trip to the SMU Presidential Museum and begin learning about the role of the First Lady, the President, and the events of 9/11.
