Map suitability
Suitable for a small event with shorter courses. Excellent venue for introductory events in particular.
Land Manager:
Most if managed by Parks Victoria.
A modest area in the north east of the map is managed by the Koolamurt Scout Camp.
Access issues:
The area is heavily used by mountain bikers. Best to keep controls off their formal tracks.
Assembly sites:
- Best assembly area for local events is at the end of Wattle Drive Spring Gully. It might be best to check if there is a competing Mountain Bike event on as they would use the same assembly.
- Connelly's Track. Limited parking and very rough access. Low clearance vehicles would have problems. Best use this site for training only.
- Track leaving the bend in Hollidays Rd. Suitable only for training events.
- Good parking in Koolamurt scout camp. This needs to be booked with the camp management well in advance.
