Map suitability
World class middle distance terrain. One of the nicest granite maps around. Only issue is relatively small area. An event on this area will attract a good attendance.
Land Manager:
Parks Victoria
Access issues:
No parking inside the park boundary.
Environmental sensitivity required more than usual.
Dja Dja Wurrung Consultation required for permit.
Dogs on lead at all times. Needs to be communicated in event information.
Assembly sites:
The first use of this site was for an Australian Middle Distance Championship. Adjoining private land was used for parking and for some of the course. All adjoining land was later purchased by Environmental Heritage properties. Cleared areas were direct sown to native trees, covenants created to protect the vegetation and the land subdivided into bush blocks for subsequent sale to the environmentally minded. All blocks have now been sold. It is now unlikely that we will ever get permission to map the remaining granite on private land. Rare orchids have been identified on these granite blocks.
1. An area of land whose use was negotiated with Parks. They considered this small area degraded and saw parking as appropriate. No longer available.
2,3 Areas with a small amount of parking. No longer available.
4- Parking on private property negotiated for an event in 2016. More details to be uploaded. Contact Daryl Fleay or Darren Eenjes.

Map status:
The map was created in 2005 and the land has been relatively stable since then.
