Map suitability
Once a great map, this is one of now two good smaller maps due to the works of Bendigo Mining who obliterated a third of the map to create a hole in the ground where gold was not found. Eminently suitable for middle distance courses. The club oral history is that the map was not put forward by the club for the 1985 World Championships because they believed it to be too small. After mapping the area Alex Tarr declared that it should have been mapped for the World Championships carnival.
