Overview
When it comes time to make your presentation, you will need to be able to print your worksheets. You need to ensure that all your information fits on one page or that the page breaks make sense, ensure that there is a title (or header) on the pages, as well as make other adjustments as necessary. One way to be environmentally friendly is to avoid wasting paper. To do this, you need to be aware of how to preview your documents before you print. Not only will you print exactly what you want the first time, but you will also save time and energy by not waiting for print jobs to finish.
In this section, you will
preview before you print
set print options (portrait or landscape, etc.)
set margins
format headers and footers
modify the worksheet (gridlines, page order, print area, etc.)
To successfully complete this training room, read and watch instructional videos of topics above.
Instructions /4
Complete the following steps in order:
Step 1: Locate and open your Formatting Sheets file from your Drive. Save a copy of it as ‘Layout & Printing - FirstName LastName’ in your Practice folder.
/1 Step 2: Create a header with the title Layout & Printing. Google Sheets does this quite differently than Microsoft Excel.
First, change the worksheet name to “Layout & Printing.”
Then in the Print menu, select “Sheet Name.”
/1 Step 3: Create a footer with the page number by selecting “Include page numbers.”
Step 4: Change the page orientation to portrait.
/1 Step 5: Check the page to ensure that all the information fits on one page. How did you preview your page? Write your answer in cell A14.
/1 Step 6: Prepare to print only the table in your worksheet. To print only the table, you'll need to select just the table, and then do what in the print menu sidebar (hint: this is an option in the dropdown of the Print menu at the very top)? Write your answer in cell A15.
Step 7: Submit your Layout & Printing on Google Classroom.
