Many situations in life will require you to write letters. Soon you will be applying for universities, scholarships, or jobs. It is important that you are ready to write a letter asking someone to be your reference. In this assignment you will be doing exactly this.
- Open a Google Doc in your Final Project folder in Tech 10 Classroom.
- Rename it: "Letter to a Reference- [first name last name]"
- Write a letter, in proper business letter format, to a person who you want to use as a reference. You may ask them to be a reference for one of the following reasons:
- Job Application Reference
- Include what the job position you are applying for is, which of your resume qualities and skills you would like the reference to verify, and from whom and when they can expect to be contacted.
- Scholarship/University Entrance Application Reference letter
- Include information on the Post-Secondary institution, what the scholarship is about, a list of your qualities that match the scholarship you would like them to write a letter about.
- When done, submit it on Google Classroom and prepare to print it.
