IEP Secondary Transition

A special education evaluation must include an evaluation of secondary transition by age 14 or the end of grade 9 OR sooner. This ensures a transition IEP is in place prior to age 16, per federal requirements. Once transition is addressed in the evaluation, it must be in the IEP.
