The Badin Banner historically has just been a school newspaper with strictly strories written and posted on the website… But there is a new growing section which is podcasts, it was started by alum Ryan Kirkendall with his “Conversations With Mr. Cole” Podcasts.

This year there are three new podcasts covering multiple topics named “Sportscenter Presented by the Badin Banner”, “The Multiverse of Theories” and “Living Day by Day”.

Patrick Ray, member of the “Sportscenter Presented by the Badin Banner” podcast said “We started it because we all love talking about sports so we decided to do one where we could be productive and other people could listen to it.”

With weekly episodes from Eli Halverson, Austin Buckle, and Patrick Ray listeners like Badin alum Kyle Ray are always informed on sports and everything that goes with them.

“I listen to the podcast while I am driving home from work and it makes it really convenient,” said Kyle.

In order to keep the episodes interesting and add competition the boys added a section called “Locks” where they all make their daily picks against the spread and see who has the best record.

“I like hearing the takes they have but especially the locks portion and I also like how they just do what they like doing,” said Kyle.

Along with his brother Patrick loves the “Locks” section and thinks it really completes the podcast as a whole.

“Just sharing laughs and the friendly competition between me, Buck and Eli. We just have fun with it and be oursleves,” said Patrick.

With the podcast growing at such a fast pace and the trio looking to improve on their craft Kyle Ray had this to say about improvements.

“I think they need to work on playing off each other more but that will come with more time and practice,” said Kyle.
