Henry Birchwell , the standout offensive lineman and captain of the 2021 Ohio division III state runner ups, recently signed to play football at Wittenberg University.

The 5’10 240 pound lineman stated that he was in love with the campus at first sight.

“When I got to campus, I just got this feeling in my stomach that I did not feel from the other colleges that I had visited.” Said Birchwell. “I immediately knew that I was at home.”

Birchwell plans to major in exercise science and will spend the next four years earning his Bachelor's degree.

“So I train at Black Sheep Performance in Blue Ash.” Said Birchwell. “I really enjoy what they do over there. My goal is to get a job right out of college there. I talked to Pat Coyne, who went to Badin, about working there after college. He is a really good connection.”

The Wittenberg Tigers ended the 2021 football season 7-3. The team has not had a losing record since 2007, one since 1998.

“Our team is going to be a really good team but we will most definitely be young.” Said Birchwell. “I know a couple people on the team already and we have good chemistry.”

Birchwell will report on Aug 10, 2022, from there he will prepare for the 2022 season.
