We are all familiar with the well-known winter sports such as basketball, swimming and wrestling, but there is one winter sport that doesn’t get as much recognition as it deserves: indoor track.
In this program, you compete at different colleges around Ohio, one of those being The Ohio State University.
You have all the same event choices as outdoor track, and a much better chance at qualifying for state due to how small of a program it is.
This program has had students compete at state over the course of the last 4 to 5 years.
The most successful events however, being the 4x400 and 4x800 relays.
The past few years, the state meet has been held at Spire Institute in Geneva, Ohio.
Despite being one of the most successful athletic programs, indoor track gets little to no recognition.
Within the past couple of years, interest in joining the team has grown tremendously.
Students from all different sports join this program, such as soccer and cross country.
Indoor track helps these student athletes get better at their main sport, or even better with track and field.
