State rankings have always been a big deal here at Badin. From football to baseball, Badin students have always proved exceptional athletes. Senior Brandon Burke recently placed third in the recent state rankings for the 500 freestyle DII times. While this isn't a permanent ranking it is an achievement none the less
“It will probably be gone in a week, but it is exciting while it still remains. Hopefully I can stay in the top 24 this season so I can make state,” Burke said.
Brandon swims year round and practices almost every day. He commits a lot of his time to the sport and this achievement is a testament to his hard work.
“We have eight practices a week for my PCY team and multiple meets a week as well. I swim for PCY and Badin and balance both their schedules as best I can,” Burke said.
The dedication to his sport is a true testament to his talent and prestige and this award is something that Brandon and his team mates are proud of. Senior Case Trokhan is also on he PCY team with Brandon.
“I have been swimming with Brandon for over 5 years. He is an incredibly hard worker and I am very excited for him to have received this recognition,” Trokhan said
