After a season of winning and success, the Rams still need one more win to clinch the GCL title. However, it won’t be easy. This week, the 8-0 Badin Rams take on the 8-0 McNicholas Rockets for the GCL championship.
Last season, the Rams were also undefeated going into this matchup to end the regular season. They won that game 10-7 led by 118 rushing yards and the lone touchdown from running back Jack Walsh. Walsh looks to repeat that performance in the rematch this year.
“I think we’re ready to go out there and win. McNick is a good team, but if we execute we’ll be okay,” Walsh said.
However, McNick has some offensive weapons of their own. QB Pierce Taylor is second in the GCL in passing and 4th in rushing.
“He is a very good player but we have a very good defense. As long as we execute we will win,” senior linebacker Eli Emmons said.
Emmons led the team in tackles in the game last year with 12, and currently leads the team this season with 87. He looks to keep his success going with another great game this week.
With the GCL title on the line, Friday is a huge game. Also, with the game being on the road, the Rams need as much support as possible. The theme is “groutfit” and everybody is expected to be there. Come cheer the Rams on as they look to win their second straight GCL title.
