Badin’s Track and Field team is starting fast to begin this spring season with challenging workouts that are already weaning out the weak links.
With lots of returning talent and speed, Head Coach Jason Starks, Assistant Coach Aaron Fleckenstein, and Assistant Coach Jenn Burley are as excited as ever to break records this year.
“I’m excited to get back into it and be with my friends again. I think I have a lot of potential to do something pretty good this year and beat my [personal records] from last year”, Senior Jackson Nieson said.
Not only does this track team have returning members, but many new members including several members from each class.
Track is a sport that many kids use to better themselves for other sports, but for other kids it is just to be around their friends and be competitive.
“I used to run track to get faster for football, but now that I am done with football I’m just doing it to hang with my friends and stay athletic”, Senior Jack Walsh said.
After a lot of skepticism for the girls track team having enough members, several new girls came out to run this year so now the relay teams will have high hopes.
This spring is looking to be a very successful season for these Rams, and new records are looking to be set.
