It’s that time of year again! College hoops and the madness that it brings is back. Every year, when the college football season begins to come to an end, the college basketball season begins and this year looks to be as exciting as ever.
“I have never been so excited for a season before. The field is super deep with teams like UCLA, Texas, and Gonzaga at the top, but also has underdog teams like St. Bonaventure, Richmond, and San Francisco,” Avery Brossart said.
Brossart is a graduate in the class of 2021 and is currently a manager for the Xavier University men’s basketball team.
“The hype is real for the team too and I think Xavier should be one of those teams that will climb to the top,” Brossart said.
Senior Ian Sabourin is also a huge Xavier fan and college basketball fan in general.
“I’m looking forward to it a lot, I mean there’s nothing better than coming home from practice and having great games to sit back and watch,” Sabourin said.
The season tips off Tuesday, November 9 with some awesome games. These include 3rd ranked Kansas vs. Michigan State and 9th ranked Duke vs. number 10 Kentucky going up against each other in the annual Champions Classic. No matter what team you root for, everyone can agree that we are glad college hoops are back and can’t wait for Tuesday!
