After 28 years of teaching, one of our beloved staff members, Mr. Merz, is deciding it is his time to finally retire. Merz taught the AP and Honors math classes such as physics, pre-calculus, calculus, and statistics. Merz is going to dearly miss teaching here, and is going to miss the joy of having some truly amazing students.
Senior Kaiden Thomas believes that Merz has made his a better student and person.
"Those who rose to the challenge were made into really incredible students by his teaching. He will be missed here at Badin." Thomas said.
Sophomore Rudy Joesting, who has only had Merz for 1 year, believes that Merz has prepared him well for his future.
"Mr. Merz has impacted me by preparing me for the college experience. He runs his class similar to what it may be like in the future and I think it will help greatly. Although his class has been difficult, it brings out the best in me and makes me better. I will feel the impact of his lessons for years to come."
Senior Brandon Burke believes that Merz has made the biggest impact on him for college next year.
"Mr. Merz is strict, but provided the best preparation for college professors I received at Badin, I am a better, more efficient, and more organized student because of my classes with Mr. Merz.
