As Christmas 2021 approaches, many people are using online shopping for buying gifts for their family and friends.
Global supply chain issues have led to shipping delays for online shoppers all across the country.
Smart shopping expert Trae Bodge is describing this catastrophe as a “domino effect” of delays and shortages.
Regardless if you ordered things way ahead of time, this delay is practically inevitable.
"My fear is that shoppers who wait until later in the shopping season will find themselves in a bind," Bodge said.
Despite the fact that paying for expedited shipping makes it more expensive, consumers from around the world have been paying the extra buck just to make sure their packages arrive in time for the holidays.
"If it looks like you’re cutting it close, it’s worth paying a bit extra for expedited shipping," Bodge said.
Along with the delays, shortages of certain products have grown.
Demand for certain goods around the holiday season has largely grown. So if you want something, you better get it quick or it’s likely to become scarce or run out all together.
With almost a week until Christmas, people are going to have to act fast if they want to get presents for their friends and family, especially if they plan to order them online.
