Sickness has been flying through Badin the past few weeks. Many of the students have been staying home ill due to this recent influenza outbreak. Emma Bucheit, one of the recent victims of the flu, is recently back at Badin.
“I was sick for a week. Had a fever for the first 3 days and then slowly got better. I got tested for covid and the flu on Thursday and was negative for covid but ended up having the flu type A.”
Students have been showing a multitude of symptoms. These range from coughing, a fever, loss of appetite, ear pain, and weakness. These symptoms have been pretty universal amongst those affected.
“I felt awful, barely able to move at some points. From what I have heard this is how other people felt as well,” Bucheit said.
Many people believe that with exams coming up they should come to school. Even if they are sick students are suffering through school to not miss valuable review.
“I believe that students need to stay home,” Bucheit said. “They shouldn’t put people at risk over some dumb test review”
No matter what sick students choose to due. Many students are concerned and are hoping for this to be over.
“I just want everyone to get better and make it through exam so we can all enjoy our Christmas break,” Kaiden Thomas said.
