As we finish up the last week of school before Spring Break 2022, students prepare for one last quarter of school.

This year’s spring break is a little different because it’s about 2-3 weeks earlier than usual. Spring break this year is not the week of Easter, which is different from years in the past.

“I think it would make more sense to have spring break on the week of Easter because we’re a Catholic school and it will be a lot warmer by then,” junior Brianna Baker said.

A lot of students go out of town for spring break with their families which can be hard when the spring breaks are different dates. An early spring break can also make it harder for vacations because the weather hasn’t warmed up enough yet.

“I know a lot of colleges around here haven’t gone on spring break yet and that can cause a lot of conflicts with vacation plans. I also wish it was later because it doesn’t feel like spring outside. I’m going to Hilton Head next week for spring break and it’s not even going to be warm enough to swim because it’s so early in the year,” Baker said.

Spring break seems to have come quick, but with Prom 2022 right around the corner, it shows how fast the rest of the year is coming.

“I think having Prom earlier than usual will make the end of the year less hectic, but it also is a lot to plan for when we’re just coming back from spring break,” Baker said.

Students have a lot on their plate this time of year, but having a week off for spring break will certainly ease the stress.
