After a few weeks back to school from Winter Break, students are getting ready to decide what classes they are taking next year. This can cause excitement, or stress for what the future holds.
Students are to choose their classes for the next school year in February after hearing briefly about their options.
“I tend to stress about what classes to take because I hear a lot of mixed feelings about some classes from other students,” junior Meagan Kirkendall said.
While it can be a tough choice choosing only eight classes, the school counselors can help you decide what is best for you.
“I think the main thing I am worried about is regretting taking more challenging classes my senior year. However, I don’t want to slack off and throw away all that I’ve worked for the past three years by making a super easy schedule,” Kirkendall said.
One of the best things about making your schedule is adding new electives that allow you to branch out. You even can take semester courses that change after Winter Break.
“One thing I want to do for my senior year is take another art class. I got to take ceramics sophomore year and really enjoyed it, so I hope that I can make room for that,” Kirkendall said.
Students also choose back up electives to ensure that if a class they want to take is full, they will be put in a different class that they are still interested in.
“I’m glad that we list all electives we are open to taking because I have been put in a back up elective class because my original one was full and I ended up really enjoying it,” Kirkendall said.
All in all, your schedule is something that can always be open to change, so no need to stress about making the perfect one just yet.
