Over the summer students used their free time to enjoy a variety of new and old TV shows. Although summer is over, students still love to watch their favorite shows during their free time.
Some students, like sophomore Dylan Klefecker, enjoy the fantasy genre. “The Owl House” on Disney is his favorite TV show.
“The Owl House is my favorite because I love the art style used in it, and it reminds me a lot of Gravity Falls and Harry Potter. If you are a fan of Harry Potter or Gravity Falls, then I would highly recommend watching it,” Klefecker said.
Junior Ava Wesner prefers the horror genre unlike Klefecker. Wesner’s favorite show is “Gravity Falls”.
“It uses the element of mystery and comedy to tell a story. Each episode has its own story, yet they all come together to tell a larger and more thought-provoking story,” Wesner said.
Sophomore Maya Craft doesn't have a favorite genre or one specific favorite show. She currently enjoys “Lucifer” and “Squid Game” the most.
“They both had super complex characters. Everyone had reasons for what they did even if it was something most people consider ‘bad’. They also had amazing effects that really made it all feel real,” Craft said. “The stories were well written and it felt like there was always a plan for how things would progress which makes them really good binging shows and rewatching shows.”
Quite a few students enjoy the show “Criminal Minds”, including freshman Jocelyn Brenot.
“I love how the different personalities of the characters blend together to make a perfect team. I also enjoy how each episode has a different plot but there is also a running storyline. I also just love the plot in general,” Brenot said.
The favorite shows vary from student to student, but some leave more suspense than others.
“This (“On My Block”) is my favorite tv show because there is a lot of action, and the directors always keep you guessing and leave every episode off with a cliff-hanger, which pulls you in to watch the next episode,” freshman Avery Mueller said.
