A strawberry ghost cake is a great way to commemorate the end of October's spooky season.
The ingredients for the strawberry cake are:
A strawberry cake mix (You can use any you want or make it completely homemade. For this cake I used the strawberry Pillsbury mix)
1 cup of water
½ cup of vegetable oil
2-3 eggs
Buy the red writing gel at the store, and for the frosting you can just buy white frosting or make it homemade. The ingredients are:
½ cup of butter
3 cups of powdered sugar
1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
2-3 tablespoons of milk
The full recipe is as follows:
Heat the oven to 350°F.
Grab a 13x9-inch cake pan or two 8-inch round pans.
Spray the pan with a no-stick spray and lightly flour it.
Mix the cake ingredients in a separate bowl until you get a smooth consistency.
Pour the batter into the pan.
Bake in the oven for 30-35 minutes.
While the cake is baking, start making the icing.
First beat the butter and sugar together.
Then slowly add the vanilla extract and milk. You may add more or less to get a desired consistency.
Once the cake is done, pull it out of the oven.
Take a toothpick and poke it into the center. If the toothpick comes out clean the cake is done. If the toothpick comes out with cake on it then stick it back into the oven for a few minutes, and repeat the toothpick process.
Leave the cake sitting for 10 minutes then take it out of the pan.
Let the cake cool for 10-15 minutes before spreading on your frosting.
Enjoy this spooky cake with your friends and family.
