The Rams have been doing a tremendous job this year in wrestling. The Greater Catholic League (GCL) champions plan on taking it to another level during sectionals.
Ely Emmons was a state placer in 2020 as a junior last year in the 195 weight class. He seemed to have a different mentality than the average athlete.
“I am not going to really try very hard but I know I am going to win. That will be cool so that next week I can go to districts. Whoever I wrestle against, I am going to destroy them.”, said Emmons. “I am not afraid of going into this with a big head because no one can beat me.”
From a team perspective, Emmons was very upfront when asked about the Rams.
“We are looking decent. We have a few good wrestlers but we also have some bad ones. Hopefully we can figure it out and have as many people go to districts as possible.” Said Emmons. “I feel as if we should be okay though.”
Emmons elaborated on his future plans as well. He does not plan to Wrestle because he has other intentions.
“I plan on going to college and playing football. I have not decided where I am going but my options are open.”, said Emmons.
