After all of the excitement around the sequel to the “Doctor Strange” film, “Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness”, one thing that refused to slip all of the fans mind’s, even with the excitement, was the lack of a trailer for the fourth Thor film.
The first time in the history of the Marvel Cinematic Universe fans will see the franchise break out of their stereotypical format for solo projects by making this new film. Usually, Marvel will have their solo projects end after making three films alongside any team up movies.
The new Thor film will break the mold by being the first solo project to have a fourth film, which is directed by Taika Waittiti who also directed the third Thor film, “Thor Ragnorok”.
Though the return of the god of thunder is not the only aspect of this new movie to cause excitement, the return of Natalie Portman as Lady Thor is one fans are excited to see as well.
Portman’s return to the MCU was one many fans weren’t expecting, especially since her character wasn’t the most beloved in the franchise. However, the cheers of the crowd rejoicing at her return in the infamous Hall H at San Diego Comic Con clearly show that her portrayal of Lady Thor is the perfect return of Portman to the MCU.
Alongside Portman, Tessa Thompson is reprising her role as the Valkyrie and Taika Waittiti will be performing as Krog once more. The Guardians of the Galaxy will be appearing in the film as well and while their role in the movie will most likely but miniscule, it was still amazing to see the return of the ragtag band of space heroes.
Though not much about the plot of the movie is known, Chrisitan Bale will be appearing as the villain Gorr the God Butcher. The God Butcher did not show up in the trailer, but his work did. The dragon-like beast called Falligar the Beomonth, a friend of Thor’s, laid dead before him.
Though with the unknown also comes speculation and many fans are still holding out on an appearance of Tom Hiddleston’s Loki. And after the climatic end to the mischief god’s TV show, it is not an unlikely theory to see him come back to the forth Thor film as his brother once more.
While there’s still rumors about what’s to come for the latest installment of the god of thunder in the MCU, fans can’t wait to see this fan-favorite character take over the big screen once more.
