Obi-Wan Kenobi is one of the most reknown Jedi in the Star Wars universe. He is a fan favorite in the Star Wars community and one of the characters many fans have wanted to see more of within the galaxy far far away.
And with the latest trailer Disney released for the Obi-Wan Kenobi show, that reality seems closer than ever. The new TV show is set to premiere May 25 and many fans can’t wait to see one of their favorite Jedi warrior again, as well as their favorite Sith Lord.
Not only is Ewan McGregor set to reprise his role as Kenobi within the show, but once again Hayden Christensen is playing Anakin Skywalker, or more well-known as the character Darth Vader. The most well-known villain in the world and certainly one to draw cheers from the audience every time the dark masked character is on screen.
The show itself takes place a few years after the seventh episode, “Star Wars: Return of the Sith”, when Anakin fully turns to the dark side and Padame, Anakin’s love interest, dies during childbith after delivering twins Luke and Leia. Darth Vadar has established a group of Inquisitors, Sith who have been tasked with hunting down alll remaining Jedi in the universe.
It is one Inquistor, Reva or The Thrid Sister, who is hunting down Kenobi on Tatooine as he watches over Luke. Alongside her is The Grand Inquistior, played by Rupert Friend, the overseer to all of the Inquistors and was first shown in “Star Wars: Rebels”. He is the subject of great controversy though as his character translation from animated to live action wasn’t the most well received.
While there isn’t much known about the project otherwise, many fans have been eagerly awaiting this series for years and the moment “The Dual of the Fates” theme played during the trailer finally solidified many fans hopes for the project of their dreams to become a reality.
