Although typing things down is quicker and easier than writing, writing is much more beneficial for your memory. People everywhere take advantage of technology today, especially here at Badin. Laptops here come in handy especially when you are not at school and need to know what work you missed. Many teachers have assignments you use your laptop for, but in certain situations, it's not always the best.
Even with the helpful use of the internet, laptops can become very distracting while trying to work on things. Since the process of typing things is more speedy, it can be hard to contain the information you are typing. With writing, it takes more time, you process the information much better while taking the time to read and write it out.
Junior Annie Schneider takes advantage of the technology used for school, but she agrees writing things down helps her with memorizing things. For smaller things she needs to remember for tests, a Quizlet is helpful. But when it comes to a large amount of information you need to remember, writing is much more helpful.
“I agree that writing out the information rather than typing is a more beneficial study method. I believe this because writing the information helps you pertain the information in your head, as you are physically about to read while you are writing. Although I do love using a Quizlet for smaller tests like vocab or a small quiz, using a Quizlet for a larger test with more information to study can get overwhelming and complicated,” Schneider said.
